Obituary:

Francis Nevel Houston, 25, of 221 Leo street, sales manager for the Central Wholesale Company, Inc., died in a local hospital Monday at 6 p.m. after a brief illness.

Mr. Houston was born in Shreveport May 3, 1914; was a graduate of Byrd high school, and a member of the First Baptist church.

He is survived by his widow, the former Mattie Amanda Dickinson, of Doyline, whom he married May 2, 1936; an infant son, Francis Nevel, II; his father, Lonnie Houston, of the Caddo Roofing and Siding company; one brother, Lonnie Gordon Houston, of Montgomery, Ala.; and seven sisters, Mrs. P.W. Fletcher, Mrs. E.R. Goodgion, Margaret, Lucy, Elaine, Carolyn, and Esther Houston, all of Shreveport.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Osborn funeral home. Dr. M.E. Dodd, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park cemetery. The body will be at the home from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be Earl Houston, R.O. Burns, Grover Colvin, John E. Dickinson, W.E. Dickinson and C.P. Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be William Cherry, Gus Brandt, Carl Maurer and Johnnie Moore.
