Maurice "Maury" Edward Epps went to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at NorthBay Hospital at the age of 87. He was born in Turkey, N.C. After being discharged from the United States Air Force in 1948, he remained a resident of the Fairfield/Suisun area for 65 years. He was a business owner and community volunteer for over six decades. He owned and operated Western Truck Service, Virgil's Bait Shop, San Francisco Express and The Cordelia Junction Antique Mall. He concentrated his volunteer service to Suisun Volunteer Fire Department, Past Assistant Fire Chief, Director of Cordelia Fire Department, and Past District Governor for Lions International.
He died the same day as his son in-law,
Marcius Gates. #110960793


He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara J. Epps; children, Judy, Gayle (Mark), Steven (Wendy); six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Edward Epps; mother, Frankie O'Quinn Epps; brothers, Tollie and Roy Epps; sisters, Lucy Matthews and Catherine Railey; and son-law, Marcius "Ed" Gates #110960793.
Aged 83 years.

A public visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Community United Methodist Church, 1875 Fairfield Ave., Fairfield. Please make donations to the charity of choice.
