Stanwood, Houston; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Services 10 a.m. Saturday, Settegast-Kopf, Kirby Dr. chapel, Dr. W. Le Ray Fowler officiating. Son of John Young Calhoun Gray and Sarah Ellen Hay. He was a retired supervisor for United Gas Company in Houston.

He first married May LaForce on December 24, 1913 in Orange County, Texas.

After May's death, he and Mrs. Willie Delmar (Barron) Petty were married March 22, 1938 by Rev H. B. Smith, Pastor of East Bernard Methodist Church, Wharton, Texas. The license was obtained in Richmond, Fort Bend County, Texas. She was previously married to Irby Woods Petty on September 8, 1928, Cherokee County, Texas; divorced prior to 1938.
