She was born May 11, 1912, in Yakima to Archibald and Lela Thompson. She attended school in Yakima until her father's death in 1919. The family then moved to Michigan where she was raised. When she was 18, she moved to California where she worked for Long's Drug Store until 1942 when she met and married the love of her life Roland R. Boink in Las Vegas, Nev. They were married for 56 years until his death in 1999 in Port Orchard.

Thelma was a very remarkable woman. She always was there for anyone who needed help, especially for her family. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family especially her three grandchildren.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Pamela E Hodges. She is survived by her son, Raymond H. Boink (Kathleen) of Port Orchard; three grandchildren, Athena R. Hodges of Bremerton, Christopher R. Boink and Ryan R. Boink both of Port Orchard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
