Andrew William is eldest child of Jacob William Harbold & Minerva Hopson aka Welch aka Harbold. I don't know how he met Myrtie, my grandmother. Possibly a social function in Phoenix, AZ. They were married September 4, 1906 in Carson City, NV. They lived & worked in Rawhide, NV during early 1900's (1907 & 1908) and I have photos of the results of the fire from 1908. Andrew & his brothers Edward, Walter & Price owned Wells Teams Tanks Water hauling which supplied the water to Rawhide, NV From the Dead Horse Wells about 9 miles out of town. Also in business as Harbold & Putnam. I think that was a mercantile. Also some kind of partner or owner in Cooper & Black Store. Gold for my grandmother's wedding band was panned in Tonopah, Rawhide, etc. Nevada. http://www.miningartifacts.org/Nevada-Mines.html

They later moved to Myrtie's hometown, Phoenix, AZ where her parents were still living and working at the Phoenix Indian School. Andrew took a sales representative position with O'Keefe & Merritt a division of Boyle Steele Mfg in Los Angeles,Cal. and traveled throughout Az, Cal, New Mex. Had many very close friends including Mr & Mrs Bill and Eleanor Lyon Mem #937134, Charlie & Mabel Jones, Mr John "Jack" Rood, J.C Reed Mem# 54136550(James C. Reed & Mary)many more are listed throughout his handwritten diaries from 1914 until his death.
Andrew was a kind and gentle husband and father. He put his family first in his thoughts and actions. Handwritten diaries describe the activities he, his family and friends were involved in - on a daily basis. He always made some comment about the weather that day and details include people's names, addresses and activities. Greatest thanks to a grandfather who left all this wonderful information so that I could know him through his writings.
Andrew passed away in Sisters Hospital now called St. Joseph's at 12:25 pm. He suffered from kidney problems for many years. He logged his weight at 117.5 lbs on 9/27/1941. AL Moore mortuary handled all arrangements. Andrew's beloved brother Walter Guy (the brother for whom he named his son) came from California to see him and stayed 4 days. Walter left 2 days before Andrew passed.
