Oliver Hayes; Married Miriam Yokum.
In 1799 migrated to Bradford County, Pennsylvania, and on west in 1820." Oliver applied for pension on August 30, 1832 in Ohio, where he died on September 11, 1847.
∼Oliver served in the Revolutionary War from 1775-1777 for ten months, Oliver is buried in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Saridinia, Brown Co., OH.

Oliver was a private in Huntington's Regiment in the Revolutionary War.
Oliver served for 6 months in 1775 under Capt. Elihu Humphreys and Col.
Jedediah Huntington. They marched to Roxbury, MA where they fortified
the place, built a fort at Dorchester Point. He served six months
there. He then reenlisted for 2 months in 1776 serving under Capt.
Samuel Hayes and Col. Jonathan Pettibone. They marched to New York City
then had to retreat because the British threatened to cut Washington's
army in two. They retreated to Fort Independence where Oliver was
discharged. Then Oliver was drafted for 2 months service in 1777 under
Capt. Abel Pettibone and Major Fish. They marched to White Plains NY
where they were detached to the scouting service under Major Fish. After
Oliver finished his revolutionary war service, he moved to Pennsylvania,
sometime after 1784. There is some confusion but I believe the family
lived in Bradford County, PA, along the New York State line. They
probably lived near Ulster, PA near the Susquehanna River. Oliver or
Oliver Jr. was listed as a clerk at Smithfield Corners or Corners Church
from 1814 to 1817. The family moved to Hamilton, Ohio in 1817 as stated
by Oliver in his Revolutionary War Pension application. By 1840 Oliver
was living with his son Warren In Brown County, Ohio
Oliver was buried at the Mt. Carmel Graveyard, located at the old site of
the Mt. Carmel Church, later owned by Mrs. Sarah Bell. It is now private
property.
Oliver was a Justice of the Peace, and applied for a Revolutionary War
Pension on Aug 30, 1832.
He had lived in New York State from 1775 to 1799, lived in Bradford
County, PA probably from 1799 to 1817, Hamilton County 1817 to around
1840, then Brown County. Hamilton County was formed in 1790 and Brown
County in 1818.
