John Edward "Jack" Holmes, 72 of 1506 Hanover St., retired manager of the Data Processing Division of the Employment Security Commission, died Monday. Funeral 11 a.m. Thursday, Mitchell Funeral Home chapel. Burial, Raleigh Memorial Park.
Surviving: widow, Mrs. Margaret Williamson Holmes; sons, Donald E. Holmes and James T. Holmes, both of Raleigh, Terry W. Holmes and Kenneth R. Holmes, both of the home; daughter, Mrs. Margaret Alice Snipes of Raleigh; five grandchildren.
Family at funeral home, 7-9 p.m. today.
