William Cordis Abbe, 90, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2000 in Corsicana.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. B. F. Risinger and Brother Bill Honea officiating. Interment will be held at Prairie Point Cemetery.
Mr. Abbe was born Dec. 5, 1909 in Bazette. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener, and loved to raise bees. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Osa Emory and Nora Crocker Abbe; brothers, Farris Abbe and Ted Abbe; and sister, Flora Abbe Connell.
Mr. Abbe is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ruby M. Abbe of Corsicana; daughters and sons-in-law, Ethelene and Odie Stewart of Corsicana and Billie and Alton Taylor of Cedar Mountain, N.C.; brother, Jack Abbe of Corsicana; grandsons and their wives, Tim and Debbie Gorden of Carrollton, James and Joie Taylor of Greenville, S.C., and Kevin and Donna Taylor of South Carolina; granddaughters and their husbands, Teresa King of Austin, Susan and P. R. Rahn of Greenville, S.C., and Randy and Alan Wilson of Corsicana; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
