Married (1), 9 Sep 1838, Mary E. Davenport. Married (2), 27 Apr 1853, Mrs. Laura Anne(Lampson)Elliott(1813-1903).
"For twenty-four years he filled leading charges in the Methodist Episcopal church in Ohio. In 1857 he rem. to Minnesota, and continued to occupy first-class positions
until rheumatism compelled him to retire from active service in the fall of 1882. He represented his annual conference in six general sessions. The degree of D.D. was conferred on him by the Ohio Wesleyan university in 1860." [Hist. of Hancock, NH,401-02]

Keeping it in the family, he was the celebrant in the marriage of his GG Niece Marie Allen and Earl Langworthy in St. Paul in 1900, her mother Georgia Eaton and George Allen in St. Paul in 1876, and Marie's grandmother Mary Thurston and George Eaton in Ohio in 1850.
