Moses Remy was a "Forty-Niner," who went to Sutter's Mill in California in pursuit of gold. He traveled there overland with a party of 12-15 others, and returned to Indiana two years later by sea, crossing the isthmus of Panama. Moses married Mary A. Phillips June 20, 1852, in Bartholomew Co., Indiana.
