John W Best, 76, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born, September 11, 1935 in Greensburg, he was the son of Otho T Best and Mary Alice (Clark) Bockover. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps serving 20 years on active duty and 10 years in the reserves. He was a past Post Commander at the American Legion in Greensburg. He is survived by two sons, Steven Dale(Cindy) Best, Waldron, John O Best, Greensburg; one daughter, Roxanna (Timothy) Hamilton, Greensburg; one brother, Sheldon Best, Greensburg; one sister, Letha Ryle, Greensburg; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Best, Josh Best, Jessica Best, and Abigail Hamilton. He was proceeded in death by his parents; one brother Melvin Best; three sisters, Linda Cline, Majorie Best and Cecilia Best. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg..
