Memorial services for Frank Helman Kaurin, 51, of San Luis Obispo will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rockville Bible Church. Pastor John Carson will officiate. Inurnment will be private at Rockville Cemetery. Born May 22, 1948, in Fort Custer, Battle Creek, Mich., Mr. Kaurin died July 23, 1999, in San Luis Obispo. From 1972 to 1977, Mr. Kaurin worked as a welder and boilermaker in naval and private-sector shipyards. From 1979 to 1987, he worked as an animal handler and director of animals in movies and television. He supervised such notable animals as Boomer and Buster: The Wonder Dog. Mr. Kaurin appeared on the TV show "Those Amazing Animals." From 1987 to 1991, he managed a horse rental string of 38 horses, and from 1991 to 1999 he worked as a self-employed horse rancher, breeder and trainer. His primary hobby and interest was horses. Mr. Kaurin is survived by his wife, Alice Kathleen Kaurin of Lakewood, Colo.; daughters, Shannon and Angel, both of Lakewood, Breanna of Manteca; sons, Shayne of Denver, Robert of Lakewood; parents, Robert and Dorothy Kaurin of Green Valley; grandmother, Carmel Kaurin of Lancaster; sisters, Barbara Kaurin of Grayson, Ga., Janell Brannen of Corona. Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
