Age 70. She came to Murphys with her sister in 1860s. Her father had come earlier to prepare a home for them, leaving his daughters in a convent in Boston. Catherine C. McNeive married Councel Goodell on 5/20/1868. He was the manager of Big Trees properties for a number of years. They moved to SF in 1879. He died March 5, 1891, in San Francisco. Catharine returned to Calaveras county in 1904 and made her home with her sons Charles Edward and Council Julian Goodell in San Andreas for 2 years and later resided in SF. Her death was sudden, she was chatting with a friend when she passed away.


Their children were Charles Edward; John Albert; Oliver Sequoia; Katherine Irene (Mrs Geo. Dennis); Council Julian who was a judge in SF. Sister of Annie E. Stone.
