The above entry for Nancy (Ann) Talbott is from a family history book tracing the descendants of Richard and Elizabeth Talbott. It displays Nancy as married to Lewis Hobbs (their marriage date is June 20, 1848) and their 4 children. Under Benjamin Talbott is displayed: "All the members of his family reached advanced age, the youngest to die being a sister 52 years old killed in an accident". His sister Nancy was born in 1818 and probably is the sister who died at age 52, which would be 1870. 1870 is also the year Lewis married his second wife Priscilla. Lewis was first a blacksmith when he was married to Nancy (Ann), and may have worked with her brother Thomas (a blacksmith) and her brother Benjamin who was coach manufacturer (see above). Later, Lewis learned the trade and became a machinist

This is the Wood's Baltimore City Directory of 1880. Lewis and his sons, Geo. W. (machinist) and John L. (blksmith) are listed, living on e Woodberry Lane. The Hobbs family may have been living in worker's houses, owned by their employer, the Poole and Hunt Iron Foundry and Machine Shop.

As displayed in the census of 1900, George had moved from Baltimore, living with his father Lewis & stepmother Priscilla. He married Leoti in 1887. They are living in Arkansas with their children Harry L. and Myrtle. George is working as a machinist in a railroad shop, the trade he learned from his father, Lewis, in Maryland.
