Son of Lemuel & Dorcas Allen.
Enlisted as a Private in Co. F 25th Maine Regiment on September 29, 1862; mustered out July 10, 1863.
Married Julia Ann Hanson on July 4, 1869 in Portland, Maine.

Jason N. Pride, the oldest man in Windham was born June 13, 1842.
He first learned the blacksmith's trade but joined the 25th Maine Regiment when the Civil War broke out. He is the only survivor of that Regiment in Windham, the other lives in Westbrook.
After being honorably discharged he worked on the rifles in the Armory at Springfield, Mass., and then entered a machine shop in Portland. From there he went to Cuba, where he was an engineer on a sugar plantation for 15 years. Returning home he entered the stable business in Massachusetts and was there for 16 years. He then went to California working in the mines at Onion Valley and later entered the Mare Island Navy Yard, where he worked as a first class machinist for 20 years.
Mr. Pride is a member in Presumpscot Lodge F. & A. M., of North Windham. He received his Masonic jewel in 1935, having been a Mason for 65 years at that time. He joined the Odd Fellows in 1866; is a member of Knights of Pythias of Portland; Eagle Royal Arch Chapter, No. 11, Westbrook. While in Massachusetts he joined the Shrine, Egypt Temple. He belongs in L. L. Mitchell Post, St. Cloud, Fla. where he spends his winters.
