The Rev. Carl T. Wuerffel, 61, Kinde, died unexpectedly Sunday in his home from a heart attack.
He was born April 29, 1917, in Mount Prospect, Ill. He married Thelma Feddersen Jan. 17, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo.
Rev. Wuerffel had been pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kinde, since November 1977.
He attended schools in Mount Prospect and Chicago. He attended Concordia College, Milwaukee, Wis., and graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1941. He served in South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Ohio. He was circuit counselor in Iowa East District and Minnesota South District. He served as pastoral advisor in Minnesota and was circuit public relations representative for the Missouri Synod.
Rev. Wuerffel is survived by his wife; five sons, The Rev. Theodore Wuerffel, Marco Island, Fla, The Rev. Jon Wuerffel, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mark, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., James, Lakefield, Minn., and David, Miami, Fla.; four daughters, Mrs. P.E. Rowley, Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Janet Gullickson, Vermillion, S.D., Lois, Long Island, N.Y., and Mrs. Carolyn Bayerkohler, St. Paul, Minn.; and 11 grandchildren.
