He lived in Ridgefield, CT until 1784 or later; afterwards he was a farmer in Fairfield, VT; he was a Revolutionary Soldier and is said to have fought at Bunker Hill.
From the Republican Advocate, May 22, 1848- Another Revolutionary Soldier Gone-
Died in Elba on the 6th inst., of Epilepsy, Mr. Nathan Hoyte aged 92 years, one month, and fifteen days. After seven weeks of severe illness, which he bore with a Soldier's fortitude and a Christian's resignation. Mr. Hoyte was a member of the M. E. Church, and for some years has been much respected not only as an efficient Class Leader. but as a devout and holy man. His death will be deeply mourned, and his brethern and friends will long lament the loss of so efficient and worthy a leader. He died full in the faith and hope of part in the first Resurrection.
