"Lee" Hill, died when Maggie was 18 months old, and mother Leona (Milford) Hill died in tuberculosis sanitarium when she was 10. 1920 census shows Maggie Bell living in home of Ozark County neighbors, Herbert Glenwood and Clara Esther (Luna) Bushong who had married shortly after Maggie's birth. They seem to have adopted her. Later, they moved to Reeds Spring and began the store later operated by Maggie and her husband.
