Mr. Barton was born in Crim's Chapel, to Emory Sr. and Alma Lindsey Barton. He was a member of Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Barton was an operator with Chevron, where he worked for 31 years. He married Una Bob Reese in 1942, and she preceded him in death in 1997.
