Funeral services for Donna Lee Bateman, 60, of Muenster, formerly of Wills Point, is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Bryan Easley officiating.
Interment will follow at Small Cemetery north of Edgewood.
She passed away early Monday morning, May 6, 2013 in Muenster.
Donna was born May 28, 1952, in Rockwall, Texas, the daughter of Martin Lee Butler and Virginia Ailene Husky Butler. She was raised in Rockwall.
On November 1, 1969, she married Donny Bateman in Wills Point. Donna was employed by Wills Point I.S.D. in the food service department for twenty-five years and was currently employed for the past eight years as dietary manager for Muenster Memorial Hospital. She lived in Wills Point prior to moving to Muenster in 2005. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and gambling at The Shack. Donna was on the board of directors for Child Protective Services in Cooke County. She was a member of the Elwood Baptist Church north of Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Floyd Butler and Martin Butler; 3 brothers-in-law, Billy Don Morrison, Anthony Bateman and Glenn Clower and a daughter-in-law, Mary Bateman.
Donna is survived by her husband, Donny Bateman, of Muenster; two sons, Vincent Ames Bateman, of Bonham
and Matthew Lee Bateman, of Overton; daughter, Melinda Jo Roden Johnson & husband, D.J., of Edgewood;
three sisters, Darlene Morrison, of Wills Point, Kelly Butler, of Tyler and Carol Johnson, of Wills Point; sister-in-law, Paula Butler, of Terrell;
seven grandchildren, Rebekah Roden, Rachel Roden, Alexis Bateman, Brittany Bateman, Elizabeth Bateman, Zac Johnson and Brandi Hendrix and six great-grandchildren, Kaidin Kahler, Shawn Scholten, Allie Scholten, Cameron Leath, Carson Leath and Casey Leath.
Pallbearers: Brian Morrison, Joshua Butler, Mica Butler , Seth Scholton, Jeremy McGehee, Jeff Conn and Jamie White
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
