Hobert J. Hartley, 63, Rt. 9, died Monday in Johnson City Medical Center Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Carter County and a son of the late William and Cora Cable Hartley. Mr. Hartley was a retired logger and farmer. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the West Carter County Volunteer Fire Department and the Johnson City Citizen's Band Club. Mr. Hartley was a Christian. Survivors include his wife Selma Almany Hartley; one son, Richard W. Hartley, Johnson City; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Smith and Mrs. Eleanor Harris, both of Butler; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Hathaway-Percy, Sunset Chapel (543-5544)
