Charles William Hamlin, 70, of Pfafftown, Route 1, Bethania Community, died Monday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hattie Rhodes Pfafftown. He had been in declining health for two years. Born Jan 27, 1875, in Virginia, he was a son of John and Eliza Hamlin. Mr. Hamlin was of Baptist faith. Surviving are his widow, 4 daughters, Miss Ruby Myers Hamlin, of Pfafftown; Mrs. Hattie Rhodes; Mrs. Nannie Naylor and Mrs. Alice Mae Myers, both of Winston-Salem; 3 sons, James, of Roanoke; Claude and Frank Hamlin, both of Winston-Salem; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Laura Otey of Virginia; and one brother, Tommie Hamlin of Christiansburg.
