Mrs. Beene was a member of the Baptist Church. She came to Haynesville with her husband, who preceded her in death about 20 years ago from Webster Parish, near Shongaloo and had resided here since that time. For quite a number of years she had been an invalid and remained at home. Mrs. Beene, as well as the entire family are known over all North Louisiana and have many friends who will regret to learn of her death. The burial was made in Old Town Cemetery. She is survived by her children L. A. Beene, Claude Beene, Loy Beene, Mrs. L. T. Waller and Mrs. C. E. Miller and Shep Beene
