Wendell was the son of Albion Rockwood and Sarah Jane Ricker of Belgrade, Maine. He married first Katherine Kennedy who died in 1902, and then in 1905 married Ella Frances Draper. Wendell was in the wholesale grocery business and served as the mayor of Cambridge, Mass. from 1916 to 1918. Known children:
