Obituary: Baylor County Banner or Abilene Newspaper:
Seymour - Maude M Barker, 80, died Monday at a local hospital. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday at the Northwest Baptist Church with Revs, Leo McMahan and Melvin Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Seymour Masonic Cemetery, directed by Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Born in Jayton, she was a school teacher and taught in the Seymour, Gilliland & Crowell school systems, among others. She retired in 1972.
She has been a resident of Seymour since 1970. She was a member of the Methodist church and also played piano for the Northeast Baptist Church for the past several years. She was a member of the Texas State Teachers Assoc., and the Retired Texas Teachers Assn. She was the widow of Wade Thomas Barker.
Survivors include two sisters, Florine Howard and Nora Fuqua, both of Seymour; two brothers, G. W. Sexton of Seymour and F. B Sexton of Slaton. THE END
