Johnson, Doris Hyer
Doris Hyer Johnson, 83, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, June 30, 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude R. and John Wesley Hyer, and twin sons.
She was an active member for over 63 years of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the J. Fred Johnson, Jr. Bible Class. She was a 1942 graduate of Central High School.
She is survived by her husband, J. Fred Johnson, Jr.; daughter, Janis M. Johnson; sons, J. Fred (Jim) Johnson III and wife, Darlene, and Rev. Wesley H. Johnson and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Autumn J. Holmes and Brad, Erin J. Gore and Eric, Nathan Sanders and Shelly, Carrie S. Holzberger and Ryan; and great-grandchildren Gavin M. Gore, Madison A. Holmes, Jacob R. Holzberger, and Benjamin R. Holzberger.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with Dr. Larry Schenk and Rev. Wesley H. Johnson officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home Valley View Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Inc., 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.
