Isaac W. Cartmell was from Keswick Cubria England. Born Aug 17, 1894. Son of Abraham & Rachel Cartmell, the 3rd of 13 Children. Immigrated to US 1913 with his Father Abraham and his brother Jack joining his brother Tom and settled in Carthage and Batavia NY. It was his father's intention to buy a farm and bring the rest of his family over but WWI broke out and he had to return to England to be with the rest of his family. He was unable to return to the US. Ike never saw his parents again. He did return to England in 1960 seeing brothers & sisters that were small children when he left and a brother & sister that were born after he left England. Ike served in US Army WWI 1917-18. US Army Ambulance Corp and trained at Camp Crane Allentown PA where he met & married Mildred King, who lived in W. Catasauqua (Whitehall) Pa (member St John's Mickley) June 23, 1920. Lived in W. Catasauqua moved to NJ 1920s. Lived in South Orange about 40 yrs. Children: Lawrence, Derwent, Robert, Walter & Isabelle. He worked as a Auto Sales Mgr & Salesman 1920s,30s,40s,50s,60s,70s. He sold Studs and Pontiac autos. He loved spending his summer vacation at his cottage at Trent River, Ont. Canada fishing with his brother Tom who lived in Toronto Canada and visiting with his brother Jack who lived just outside of Toroanto. Married for just 2mos shy of 60yrs when Mildred died Apr 16, 1980. Isaac died Oct, 4, 1983. They are both buried at St. John's Cemetery aside their 1st child, Lawrence died 4 days old, Apr 1921.
