Richard Ralph Entwistle, 84, of Sebring, Fla., went to be with our Lord on Friday, May 10, 2013, while being cared for by his loving family and the staff of Summers Hospice House.

A graveside memorial service will be held in the future, at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.

Mr. Entwistle was born on March 9, 1929, in Davenport, and moved to Sebring in 1977, from East Moline.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, had retired as a salesman for Bartow Ford and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Avon Park, Fla. He loved to hunt and fish with his sons and work in his garden.

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 65 years, Phyllis; children, Richard and Nancy Entwistle, Novinger, Mo., Diana Dunsworth, Avon Park, Walt and Crystal Vanderpool, Avon Park, James and Lisa Werner, Sebring, and James and Laverne Entwistle, Scotland, Ark.; a brother, Robert Entwistle; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys Smith Entwistle; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Robert Stonefield; sister-in-law, Charlotte Entwistle; and a grandson, Shane Entwistle.
