He was the son of George Murphy and Lucy Bertha (Beavers) Koonce. Husband of Annie Frances (Crosslin) Koonce.

His Obituary:

Allen M. Koonce, of Shelbyville, died last Friday at Bedford County Hospital, following a breif illness. He was 61 years old.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Howell-Thompson Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Fayetteville with Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Koonce moved to Shelbyville about 40 years ago and was paymaster at the UniRoyal plant there.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annie Crosslin Koonce, and four sisters, Mrs. Fred Lefner of Loudon, and Mrs. Nell Carter, Mrs. W. B. Christian, and Miss Josephine Knnoce, all of Hohenwald.
