CANIPE - Ambrose F. (Al), 62, a long time resident of the Jacksonville
area passed away on Saturday at his residence. Mr. Canipe was a retired
Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, after retiring he went to
work at NAS Jax in the Aircraft Re-works Division, after retirement he
gave 41 years and 4 months to the service of his Country. A member of the
St. Andrews Presbyterian Church where he served on many committees.
A tireless volunteer in the Springfield & Jacksonville area for the
homeless and needy. Predeceased by wife of 35 years Ruby Canipe he is
survived by his loving wife Barbara Canipe; sons Timothy Canipe of
Maiden, N.C., Tony and Terry Canipe of Jacksonville, FL, Tommy Canipe
of Newton, N.C., Brian Judd of Jefferson, Ind. and David Judd of
Moscow, Mo.; brothers Ruffin Canipe of Maiden, N.C., and Frank and
Alfred Canipe of Hickory, N.C.; 9 grandchildren. The family will receive
friends on Monday from 6:30-9:00PM at the Hardage-Giddens Chapel. Funeral
services will be held on Thursday at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in
Hickory, N.C. Burial to follow in the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Hickory Funeral Home in Hickory, N.C. Arrangements under the direction of
