Family Records:

The family and friends of Mrs. Ed Williams of this city had known for several weeks that she was critically ill and no hope could be given for her recovery. Death came as a relief from her intense suffering, March 26, 1948 at the family home at 803 North Independence of this city.

Della Lurena Williams, daughter of John H. and Luella L. Bowman, was born near Butler, Bates County, August 17, 1877 and was 70 years old, 7 months and 9 days of age. When 15 years of age the family moved to Adrian. A short time after that she united with the United Brethern Church there.

On September 21, 1897, she was united in marriage to William Edwin Williams. They established their home in Adrian and lived there until 1920, when they purchased the Sharp property in Harrisonville and continued to live there. One son, Floyd C., was born to them.

Mr. and Mrs. Williams united with the First Babtist Church here in 1937 and through the years enjoyed the fellowship and the church work as long as they were physically able. Her church, home and family were always very dear to her and her life was always a fine influence on those with whom she came in contact. She was indeed quite happy when they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in the home of her brother, Abner Boston Bowman and his wife last September.

Her parents and one brother preceeded her in death.

Mrs. Williams leaves her devoted husband, their son, Floyd and his wife, whom she loved as her own, of Bismark, North Dakota, one sister, Mrs. Ida S. Nichols and a brother, A.B. Bowman of Harrisonville and another brother, Frank Bowman of St. Joseph, one aunt, Mrs. Lillie Erhart who made her home with them for the past few years and other relatives.

One daughter, Bernice Williams, preceeded.

Funeral services were held in the Babtist Church on Monday afternoon, the Reverend Boatwright, her pastor, in charge, assisted by Reverend Charles R. Swofford. Nancy Smith sang "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "Going Home", accompanied by Mrs. Naydede Adkins at the organ.

Casket Bearers were; Frank Davidson, Roy Lightner, Rodney ?, Robert Worthiey, Troy ? and W.D. Delozier.

Della's Spouse: William Edward Williams, son of William Francis and Nancy Christine (Lamon) Williams, was born December 11. 1869. He was married to Della Lurena Bowman on September 21, 1897.

Edward remained in Missouri and little is known about him.

Dr. Paul Green, of Harrisonville, pronounced death caused by Carcinoma of the Breast with Metastasis. The informant was W.E. Williams, spouse of the deceased.

Mrs. Williams was born August 17, 1877, in Bates County, Missouri, the daughter of John N. and Luella (Conard) Bowman. She was united in marriage to William Edwin Williams and he survives her. Mrs. Williams was a housewife.

Arrangements were under the care of Runnenburgers Services of Harrisonville. Burial was in Crescent Hills Cemetery in Bates County.
