HENRY LEE THOMPSON was the son of Henry Founton Thompson and Mrs. Frances "Fannie" (Newton) Thompson.

He was the husband of Mrs. Mary Idona "Mamie" (Bridger) Thompson whom he married on July 1, 1903 in Harrison County Texas. His wife survived him in death.

"Henry Thompson Services Monday ---
Henry Lee Thompson, 81, died at 8:05 a.m. Sunday in Kahn Memorial Hospital. A retired farmer, he had lived for 75 years in Harrison County. Mr. Thompson was born September 27, 1872, and he was a member of the Baptist church. He was the son of Fannie Newton and Henry F. Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday from the Friendship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. O.L. Craver. Mr. Thompson will lie in state prior to the services at Sullivan Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Gill Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mamie Thompson, of Marshall; a daughter, Mrs. Minnie Hayes, of Marshall, a foster daughter, Mrs. Austin Harris, of Marshal; two brothers, John T. Thompson, of Marshall, and Albert Thompson, of Gladewater; and four sisters, Mrs. Tom Stovall and Mrs. J.A. Bridger, both of Longview, Mrs. Joe Allen, of Marshall, and Mrs. A.J. Money, of Gladewater. Six grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers will be Alvin Money, Silvis Allen, Charles Allen, Walter Allen, Bill Allen and Horace Bridger."

Note: Henry Lee Thompson was laid to rest at the family plot at Blocker Cemetery in Harrison County -- as reported in the obituary and as reflected on the death certificate. However, a companion grave marker was laid in remembrance of him at Gill Cemetery in Harrison County.
