He graduated from TX A&I in 1964. Incredibly proud of his country, Walter served in the United States Air Force Reserves as a MSgt. from 1965-1992 and worked Civil Service at Kelly AFB and Randolph AFB from 1966 until he retired in 2007.
Walter had a passion for amateur radio and was a HAM since he was 16. His radio sign was K5YFW and he was active with many HAM organizations, including serving as an Assistant Director of AARL West Coast Gulf Division. He was also a member of Castle Hills First Baptist Church and was active with the Texas Baptist Men's Disaster Relief Ministry.
Walter was preceded in death by his twin daughters and is survived by the love of his life Susie Ann Hood DuBose, his two sons Daniel Dent and Lawrence Morgan and wife Tina, and two granddaughters Danielle and Kennedy. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
