Son of Elizabeth Tietshorn 1758-1836 and Jeremiah Van Steenbergen 1754 - ?, he lived over 88 years and had several children. He married first Maria Schmidt b.1791 d.abt.1852 and was married or living with second wife Elizabeth Duesler Heath Holland in the 1860's but by 1875 they are found separately on the census. In 1880 he was retired and living with his son-in-law David Duesler who is also a nephew of Elizabeth Duesler Heath Holland Steenburgh. His grave has not been found but may be in Ephratah Cemetery.
