Funeral services for William F "Buddy" Barnett, age 79, of Mineola will be 2 p.m. Friday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with entombment in Tyler Memorial Park.

Mr. Barnett was born Feb. 10, 1934, in Mineola to Neely H. and Oleta Marie Creech Barnett and passed away on May 7, 2013, in Tyler.

He served in the U.S. Navy and lived in Mineola area all of his life.

Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife, Vivian Barnett, of Mineola; sons, Glenn Barnett and wife Kathy, of Lindale, Bryan Barnett, of Illinois, Steven Barnett and wife Heidi, of Mineola; daughter, Lori Payne and husband Paul, of Chandler; stepchildren, David Roddy, of Chandler, Mark Roddy and wife Trish, of Jacksonville, Laura Burgess, of Tyler; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
