Born Monday, August 4, 1947 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Howard Atchley and Pearlie Leona Clark Atchley. He had lived in the Toney area for the past 25 years. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Larry Atchley. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam era. He was a great father and loved his grandchildren.
Surviving are daughter, Tonia (Joseph) Kent of Toney, AL, sisters, Joyce Atchley of Taft, TN and Linda (David) Lankford of Ardmore, AL, grandchildren: Tyler Kent and Colby Kent, both of Toney, AL.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Harold Boggs officiating. Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery, Blanche, TN.
