Contrary to her head stone and to the following obit, Amanda's DOB had to have been February 24, 1848. This is supported by every census and by the fact that she had an older sister, Elizabeth Lucretia, who was born in November, 1846 (d. 1847).

Amanda Jane Troxel Reinier, daughter of Alexander & Anna Elizabeth Ashcraft Troxel, was born near Ollie, Iowa, Feb. 24, 1847. She departed this life at the home of her daughter, Cordelia Viola Johnson, of Rock Port, Missouri, on Oct. 26, 1935. Age - 88 years, 8 months, and 2 days old. On Sept. 6, 1868, she was united in marriage to Samuel Richard Reinier. They were the parents of 5 boys, Jacob Newton, Hugh Alexander, Thomas Richard, James Anderson, and Albert Willis, and three girls, Cordelia Viola Johnson, Eliza Jane, who died at 3, and Bertha Samantha Wood. While in her youth, Amanda united with the Baptist Church at Rock Creek, of which she was a faithful member. She was a devoted wife and a good mother, always of a cheerful disposition and beloved by all who knew her. She had two sisters and seven brothers who preceded her in death. She has one sister, Mrs. Mary Sanders of Joplin, Missouri, who still survives. She also leaves 36 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren of whom she was very fond, plus many relatives and friends. She left behind many mourners. She endured her suffering for the past year, but was brave and patient through it all, loving hands did all they could, but God knew best. ~ Thanks to Jamie & Valarie Raney for this obituary, via Sandra Burtness.
