He was born December 8, 1935 in Putnam County, West Virginia to the late Grant Wesley and Selma Vay (Jividen) Goddard, he was also predeceased by one sister Ellen Epps.
On July 24, 1955 in Ostrander he married the former Claudette Jane Kay Teets and she survives, also surviving are their four children: Candy Jane Goddard of Ostrander, Christine V. (Steven) Clark of Marysville, Gary E. Goddard of Indiana and Thomas G. (Theresa Kathleen) Goddard of Marysville
Twelve Grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren
Two Brothers: Thurman (Pam) Goddard of Pandora and Don (Darlene) Goddard of Richwood, three sisters: Maybelle (George) Bredsten of Cordova, Tenn., Lana (Paul) Fowler of Richwood and Paulette (Doug) Halterman of Troy.
Guy was a meat cutter for the Kroger Company for over 45 yrs., working at the Marysville, Delaware and Bucyrus stores. He was also a farmer and longtime member of the Pharisburg United Methodist Church. Guy was a former Boys Scout Leader and had coached baseball in Magnetic Springs and Marysville. He was also known to be quite the handyman.
Guy enjoyed Country and Western music, camping, boating, traveling and was a Civil War history buff.
Funeral Services will be held Friday May 10, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Pharisburg U.M. Church with Pastor Judy Cramer officiating, burial will follow in the Maple Dell Cemetery near Magnetic Springs. Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood.
