Frances Marie Borges, 91, of Martinsville passed from this life on Sunday, May 5th, 2013 at the Community Heart & Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis.

Frances was born on September 23, 1921 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Chalmer and Margaret (Costello) Loftin. She moved to Martinsville as a teenager and graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1940.

In April 1946 she married Thomas Herman Borges; he preceded her in death on January 29, 1979. Following the death of her husband, Frances moved back to Martinsville, making that her home over the past 35 years.

She was a member of the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Martinsville, as well as, the Golden Circle. Frances was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who delighted in spending time with her family, friends and neighbors.

She will be deeply missed and always remembered by her family and friends including her two sons, Tom (wife, Mary Jo) Borges of Frankfort, IN and John (wife, Lisa) Borges of Indianapolis; one daughter, Monica (husband, Gary) Burgi of Hilliard, OH; one sister, Emma Ruth Kivett of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Kim, Brett, Matt, Michael and Alex Borges, Meg Geldhof and Joe Burgi; one step granddaughter, Vanessa Miller; one great granddaughter, Ivy Jane Geldhof and two step great grandchildren, Caleb & Noah Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Borges; two brothers, Frank and John Loftin and one sister, Margaret Lemons.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 9th from 4-8:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 4:00 p.m. at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville and one hour prior to the mass on Friday at the church. Father Mark Gottemoeller will conduct a funeral mass on Friday, May 10th at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1709 E. Harrison St., Martinsville and burial will follow in St. Martin's Cemetery.
