CHILI — Our dentist, Dr. Schafer [sic] suddenly died at his home two miles east of here last Sunday morning at 7:30. He had just started the fires in his stoves and called to his boys to arise, when a moment later he fell to the floor, a lifeless corpse, death being due to heart failure. Dr. Housley was at once called, but his efforts were of no avail. Dr. Schafer came to this country from Germany and practiced dentistry in Chicago a number of years and about two years ago bought a farm near here which has since been his home. He also had an office here and had worked up a fine business, coming here twice a week. Deceased leaves a wife, a daughter and two sons here and a brother in Chicago who is at present very ill. The funeral was held Wednesday in the church at 2 o'clock and the remains taken to the cemetery at Yolo. Dr. Schafer had a great many friends here and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. –Granton News.
