Shirley was always ready to get her hands dirty, but she knew how to use her hands to beautify, too. She was a wonderful woman who was widowed young and raised five beautiful children all by herself. She is missed so very much.

GOLD, SHIRLEY, 77, died Sunday at Miriam Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert Dwares.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Morris and Esther (Hassenfeld) Gold, she was an East Providence resident before moving to Warwick 11 years ago. Shirley was a paralegal for 6 years and bookkeeper for the former New England Pencil Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1981. She was a former member of Temple Emanu-El and attended Bryant College and URI. She traveled worldwide and was an avid bowler, card, mah jongg and bingo player.
Devoted mother five. Dear sister of Selma Fishbein of Providence and the late Benson Gold. Adored grandmother.
