Shorty Dugger, 74 of Ardmore, Alabama died on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at his home.
Born Thursday, June 30, 1938 in Athens, Alabama, he was the son of the late A Ronald Dugger, Sr. and the late Lillie Elliott Dugger. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: late Shelby Thompson Dugger, brothers: David Dugger and Jesse Dugger, a daughter: Rita Dugger, and a granddaughter: Regina Davenport. He was a Veteran of the U S Army and liked gardening, flowers and fishing. He lived most of his life in the Nashville area, returning to Ardmore in 2004.
Surviving are sons, Christopher Shane Dugger of Nashville, TN, Mike Welch of Nashville, TN and Grady "Bubba" Welch of Nashville, TN, daughter, Ronda Davenport of Nashville, TN, brothers, Odie Dugger of Ardmore, AL and Buddy Dugger of Ardmore, AL, sisters, Edith Hodges of Harvest, AL, Betty Taylor of Athens, AL and Myrtle Currin of Ardmore, AL, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Joel Logan and Bro. Ray Petitt officiating. Burial will be in Hermitage Memorial Gardens, Hermitage, TN on Monday, April 22, 2013, at 12 noon. Pallbearers will be Wade Hodges, Mike Taylor, Jeff Taylor, Richie Dugger, Kelly Currin, and James "Bobo" Dugger.
