Roy E. Sullivan, 60 of West Frankfort died of a heart attack at 9 am Friday, January 2, 1953 at home. He had suffered a previous heart attack in November. Survivors include his widow, Vida, his mother, Mrs. Sarah Sullivan of Marion, daughter Mrs. Carl Wall of Marion, two sisters, Alma and Bess Sullivan of Marion, two brothers; Stanley of Marion and James L. of Paris and granddaughter Cheryl Wall of Marion.

He had lived in West Frankfort since 1917 and was employed by the Old Ben Coal Co. He was employed by Old Ben's real estate holdings and was a member of the First Christian Church in West Frankfort. Funeral home is Reedy in West Frankfort and burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion.
