He was born June 19, 1932, in Anderson, the son of Carl and Margaret (Liptow) Strader. He was a lifelong Anderson resident, a graduate of Saint Mary's High School, a Korean War Army veteran and a retired tool and die maker at Delco-Remy, Div. of General Motors. He enjoyed playing golf, and bird hunting with the Brittany Spaniels that he raised.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Roberta (Giles) Strader; a daughter, Debra (husband Charles) Teague of Anderson; a son, William Steve Strader of Anderson; four grandchildren, Christopher (Karen Borror) Morgan of Alexandria, Alexis Strader, Rita (husband Kyle) Wagoner and Jennifer Pryor, all of Anderson; five great-grandchildren, Shante Haines of Terre Haute, Austin Crusmire, Ashton Crusmire, CeCelia Litten all of Anderson and Emma Morgan of Alexandria; a sister, Brabara Hickner of Anderson; three nieces; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Paul Strader.
