He was married to the former Romaine E. Loss on Oct. 5, 1963, who died on June 18, 1982.
He then married the former Carol J. Sieber in September 1985.

While serving in the Air Force from 1955-59 he obtained his high school diploma.
He had been employed by ACF Industries, Milton for 33 years.
Mr.Kuhns attended the Zion United Methodist Church, RR1 Middleburg.

According to his obituary, in addition to his second wife, he was survived by two daughters; two sons; two step-sons; one step-daughter; three granddaughters; four step granddaughters; one step grandson; three brothers and sister-in-laws, Holden and Elaine of San Antonio, Texas, Delbert and Betty of Homosassa, Fla., and Joel and Rosalie of Wellsboro; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Isabel M. VanHorn of Freeburg, and Geneva M. and Robert Bachman of Middleburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack in 1945.
