A squad returning to their OP in the vicinity of Lam Phung hamlet near Hill 25 in the Dai Loc District of Quang Nam Province observed some movement and opened fire. PFC Jarvis who was on perimeter watch and mistaken for the enemy and was killed as a result of the rifle fire by the Marine patrol.
