Wilbur H. Wallbrown, 70, of Rt 1 Kanawa, Wood County died last evening about 7:30 in Camden Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in Milo W. Va. he was a son of the late Michael M. and Mary M. Sampson Wallbrown, d/o Harvey George Sampson and Rachel Diane Cottrill]. He had taught school in the Calhoun County School system for 25 years, retiring in 1950. He then was employed by Ralph's Market in South Parkersburg, retiring in 1963 after 10 years of service.
Survivors include one foster son; Chester Richards of Mt. Airy N. C.; four brothers, Oris D. Wallbrown of Lompoa, Calif., Seldon B. Wallbrown of Sarasota, Fl., Winfred J. Wallbrown of Akron, O., and Curtis L. Wallbrown of Linden; and four sisters, Mrs Olive Truman of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs Harriet Witte, Mrs Stella Fordyce and Mrs Isa Wilson all of Sarasota, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs Bertie Richards Wallbrown who died in 1965, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, with burial to follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
