Mrs. Jewell Chantry Turnell of 8188 Sierra Avenue in Fontana, a native of Edom, Texas, lived in Fontana and California for 35 years, died Saturday at her home at the age of 60. She was a charter member of Fontana Community Church, member and past treasurer of Orange Blossom Chaper, Order of Eastern Star, charter member of Guiding Light White Shrine of Jerusalem, a member of Fontana Woman's Club for many years and active in all civic affairs of Fontana. She was survived by her widower, William C. Turnell, Fontana, two sisters, Mrs. Wilford L. Murray, Fontana and Mrs. Frank E. Bronaugh, Augusta, Arkansas, three brothers, J. A. Dean, Fontana, D. L. and C. C. Boyd, both of Texas, two nephews, William J. Murray and Joseph J. Dean, both of Fontana, and a niece, Lola Murray, Fontana. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Fontana Community Church with the Rev. Horace S. Cushing, the Rev. Leonard R. Rhoads, Orange Blossom Chapter, OED and White Shrine officiation. Interment will be Montecito Memorial Park with Ingold Chapel in charge of arrangements.
