Willie the son of Willie C. Robinson Sr. and Mary H. Robinson of Camilla GA enlisted in the US Marine Corps on August 9 1966 in Jacksonville FL. In Vietnam he was assigned to and serving with Company F, 2d Battalion, 26th Marines, 3D MARDIV (Rein) FMF.
During the month of August the Battalion was operating in the vicinity of Phu Bai located in Thua Tien Province. On August 25 during a patrol three men in the lead near Highway 1 south of the hamlet of Phu Bai (4) tripped a BT (Booby Trap)causing an explosion. LCpl Robinson was killed by the shrapnel and three men were wounded.
