Musician. Born Samuel Fleming McGee in Franklin, Tennesse, he was a guitar flat picker best known for performing in the duo The McGee Brothers. Together with his brother Kirk, whom played banjo or fiddle, they were one of the most enduring acts on the Grand Ol Opry Show. They made their initial appearance on the Opry in 1926 and made their last major appearance as a duo on the Opry in 1974. He was killed in a tractor accident on the family farm in Williamson County, Tennesse.
